Albanian Riviera

The Albanian Riviera is undoubtly
one of the most beautiful and
virgin region in Albania.


There is real ambiance here from the warmth of air through to fiery romantic sunsets.






















Riviera extends for more than 100 km of coastline from the bay of
Vlora until the southern point of Albanian coast in the border with Greece.




Starting the trip from the city of Vlora to the south the first place to visit is the
Pass of Llogara. This place is a climateric area. It offers to the visitors a magnificent and open
view down to the unspoilt beaches of Ionian coast.
Going down from Llogara there are numerous
beaches and several panoramic villages.


First one is Palasa with its sttatered houses and its beach on the foot of mountains,
almost completely virgin.

Further to Palasa there is Dhermi village,
one of the most beautiful villages in Riviera,
built between the sea from one side and the slopes of high

Cika mountain from the other side.


Worth visitng are the churches
Saint Stefani and Saint Mitri (XII – XIV centuries).
Dhermi is well known for its beach of clear sea water.
Quite near Dhermi there is Vunoi village,
a typical village of Albanian Riviera with its houses facing the sea,
full in charm and hospitality. Only few km from here,
there is one of the most attractive beaches of Riviera,
known by the name Jali.

Himara is the most important center of Upper Riviera.
It has been an ancient dwelling place of the Illyrian tribe of Kaons,
known by the name Himarea.





Continuing to the south there is the small tectonic bay of Porto Palermo.
Its ancient name is Panorma and it is mentioned by ancient author Straboni.

On the small peninsula of the bay
it is a small castle of Ali Pasha in the midst of
dense lush mediterranean vegetation.
Ali Pasha built this small castle for the
honour of his wife, Vasiliqia.

Until to the town of Saranda there are other villages of Qeparoi,
Borshi ( where is the biggest beach in Riviera) Piqerasi, Lukova, Saint Vasili.
All they have a beautiful position in the midst of subtropical v
egetation from one side and the blue sea waters from the other one.

Riviera is admired by everyone.
The local population of Dhermi, Vuno,Himara, Qeparo and Borshi
offer their houses for the guests.
There provide comformity and offers to visitors delicious local food.
